September 8, 2017, Odesa, at the invitation of the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine V. Omelyan, GUAM Secretary General Altai Efendiev and Program Coordinator Sabuhi Tamirov took part in the II International High-Level Transport Conference «Integrated Transport Corridors in the Europe-Asia Communication».
The welcoming speech was addressed to the participants by the Prime Minister of Ukraine V. Groysman and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova P. Filip.
The GUAM Secretary General thanked the Prime Minister of Ukraine for the initiative to hold a meeting of the Heads of Government of the GUAM Member States in March this year and noted that the agreements reached during the meeting promoted the intensification of cooperation within the Organization.
Altai Efendiev also informed the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Moldova on the implementation of the idea of establishing the GUAM Business Cooperation Association, as well as on the work to simplification of the procedures for customs clearance when transporting goods through the GUAM Transport Corridor.
Also within the conference, Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Ukrainian Railways, Georgian Railway and Azerbaijan Railways.
The Joint Statement was approved by the results of the conference.
