On 11 September 2008 Secretary General of GUAM took part in the Round Table “Russian-Georgian conflict. Causes and consequences”, organized by the Center of Socio-economic researches DIAMATIC and Ukrainian Law Association.
Secretary General provided to the participants information about plans and goals of Organization in the aftermath of Russian-Georgian conflict. It was emphasized, that conclusions of Batumi Summit will be indeviatirigly implemented, and GUAM will further contribute to the development of democracy and economic cooperation in the Black Sea – Caspian Region.
Secretary General expressed the opinion, that under current circumstances, when following Russian-Georgian conflict the effectiveness of regional cooperation mechanisms is ruined, role of GUAM in the network of regional international relations will increase.
