On 16 November 2010, in the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv, within the framework of the 13th meeting of the Steering Committee of the GUAM Project on Trade and Transportation Facilitation (TTF/SC), the regular meeting of GUAM member states border control authorities (BG/EXP) was held under the chairmanship of the Azerbaijan side.
In accordance with the Decision of the 12th meeting of the GUAM Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs (New York, 24 September 2010), experts exchanged information on the course of advancement of proposals of the GUAM member states’ border control authorities within the Eastern Partnership Flagship Initiate “Integrated Border Management”. They advocated for the necessity to continue within the GUAM-USA Framework Program the relevant work on the improvement of border control and modernization of border cross points at the GUAM Transport Corridor as well as exchanged views on a possibility to use by the GUAM member states of the OSCE model course on checking/verification of documents.
The next BG/EXP meeting is planned to conduct in connection with the meeting of GUAM TTF/SC.
