On June 13, 2017, the Secretary General of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM Altai Efendiev met with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Coordinator of GUAM from Ukraine, Vadym Prystaiko.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the solutions and recommendations of the meeting of the Prime Ministers of the GUAM Member States and the Business Forum «GUAM: Territory of Free Trade and Transit» (March 27, 2017). In particular, the Secretary General informed about the process of ratification of documents adopted during the meeting of the Prime Ministers and also provided information on the results of the First Meeting on the Establishment of the GUAM Business Cooperation Association (May 31, 2017). The Secretary General also informed about recent events within the GUAM, in particular, about his speech at the OSCE Permanent Council on June 8, 2017.
The parties stressed the need to maintain the positive dynamics achieved within the Organization in recent times and the importance of the initiative of the Georgian Chairmanship in the GUAM for organizing and holding high-level meetings, in particular, the special meeting of the GUAM Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs and the meeting of the Heads of Parliaments of the GUAM Member States.
