Azerbaijan condemns the heinous shooting perpetrated in Orlando, the US, on June 12, which resulted in numerous human causalities and injuries, Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, told Trend June 13.

Azerbaijan extends heartfelt condolences to the people of the US and the families of those who lost their lives, and wishes a speedy recovery to the wounded, added Hajiyev.

Fifty people were killed and 53 wounded in shooting at the crowded Pulse gay nightclub in the heart of Orlando, Florida, June 12. The gunman, Omar Mateen, a New York-born Florida resident and US citizen who was the son of Afghan immigrants, was shot and killed by police who stormed the club with armored cars after a three-hour siege. This became the deadliest mass shooting in US history.
